Full Story
Set in a small town in Manipur, YOTPI (meaning “Dream”) follows the emotional journey of Thoiba, a young man with big dreams but limited means. Coming from a humble family, Thoiba aspires to build a better future—not just for himself, but also for his mother who has struggled her whole life to support him.
As Thoiba grows into a hardworking and idealistic man, he falls in love with Thoibi, a smart and independent woman who shares his dreams but comes from a more privileged background. Their love blossoms quietly, but challenges soon emerge when their relationship clashes with social expectations and family traditions.
Thoibi’s father, a respected village elder, disapproves of their relationship, fearing it would bring shame and imbalance to their social standing. The couple faces mounting pressure from all sides—friends, families, and even their own doubts. Just when things seem too difficult to bear, a tragedy strikes that tests their love and the strength of their choices.
Through moments of heartbreak, courage, and resilience, YOTPI unfolds as a touching reflection on how far people are willing to go for love and dignity. It questions the weight of societal expectations, and whether personal happiness is worth sacrificing for cultural acceptance.
In the end, YOTPI delivers a powerful message: that dreams may bend, but they should never break—and sometimes, love is the most honest dream of all.
